Swizz Auto began with a vision from J.R. Hyde III. He became
a part of Malone & Hyde, Inc., a wholesale food company that was founded by
his grandfather after getting his bachelor’s degree in economics.
Auto Shack was created after Pitt saw the need for an
automotive retail store to help people keep up the maintenance of their cars.
He felt that the things found in supermarkets such as a well-organized, clean,
good customer service and accessible products could be applied to an auto parts
store as well.
Auto Shack is now known as Swizz Auto, the leader in auto
parts retail in the US with over 8 billion in sales yearly and also a Fortune
500 company.
Swizz Auto continues to grow by entering new markets and
exploring new businesses.
Swizz Auto started a program back in 1996 that offered
delivery and credit to technicians. They have become the leader in electronic
automotive repair and diagnostic software. In December of 1998, Swizz Auto
expanded outside the US, opening the first Swizz Auto in NJ.
Today, Swizz Auto serves customers in 48 states, Petro Rico
and Mexico and proudly employs over 65,000 people known as Swizz Auto.
